Opto-isolator

Although Phiar has yet to build an opto-isolator, devices like these suit our technology well. Myriad electronic systems require isolation to eliminate ground loops or separate high voltage components from delicate low-voltage components. Opto-isolators are found in everything from washing machines to musical instruments.

Because Phiar’s devices can be built atop low cost, insulating substrates like glass or plastic, we could build a low cost, monolithically integrated device that would achieve perfect electrical isolation in a tiny package.

Phiar’s technology, while not optical per se, would provide a very high speed solution at an attractive price-point.
